StatSheet is now projecting Providence will get to the NIT as a five seed, provided they finish with a winning record. The Friars are ranked #101 in the StatSheet StatRank, and making the NIT will be decided by their 13-11 overall record and 5-7 record in the Big East.
During its last four games, Providence picked up a quality win against RPI #31 Cincinnati and wins against South Florida and Villanova but also took on a loss against RPI #19 Connecticut.
Providence struggles against strong competition, with a 3-7 record against the RPI Top 100 that includes a 1-6 record against the RPI Top 50 and an 0-5 record against AP ranked teams. While the Friars have a single quality win against RPI #31 Cincinnati, they're also weighed down by four bad losses including RPI #184 DePaul, RPI #247 Brown, RPI #134 Boston College, and RPI #196 Penn State.
